self-confidence.
Teresha

completing a gap year in 2001-2002, she moved to Uganda to start Spring
of Hope

In
their words:
Like Stephen
Neil, the late Bishop of
Sri Lanka, once said, "Our ministry is about ‘one beggar telling
another beggar
where they can find bread free.’ Thus, our ministry’s motivation is
utter
selflessness. No one who has found the Truth can keep quiet: not
Phillip to
Nathaniel; not the Samaritan woman to her city; not Mary Magdalene to
the
disciples, and not Paul to the ends of the earth. Our continued
motivation comes as we put our faith in Jesus Christ. In
faith we
are working toward seeing that young people and
children with disabilities are enabled and empowered to meet their full
potential. We know that life here on earth is temporary, but we are all
capable
of leaving behind a legacy that will last forever. Our legacy will be
reflected
in the strength, independence and positive attitudes of the individuals
we
reach, whether we help them to walk, give them the opportunity to go to
school,
or help them learn skills which improve their lives in the future. We
believe that even in the face of crippling poverty, disease and
turbulence
there is a bright light shining through Jesus Christ that can help
people rise
above their circumstances and bring goodness to the world. We strive to
help these
children find the power of this light within them.
