Wasswa Yusuf
Yusuf was born a healthy boy.  At a young age he had Malaria.  The Malaria progressed to where he had seizures associated with the illness.  He was treated for Marlaria, and the seizures went away.  However, Yusuf is not able to talk and is only able to hear a little due to Malaria.  He is currently seven years old.

Lunkuse Estheresther
 Esther is fifteen years old.  At a young age she developed some bad ear infections.  As a result, she now has a hearing loss.  She needs to be close to the speaker and the voice needs to be loud in order for her to hear what is being said.

Motovu Wilson
Wilson is a fifteen-year-old boy with Down Syndrome.  He also has some vision loss.  Wilson is the third child in a family of eight children.  He is in need of a sponsor so he can go to school so he can learn more skills that will help him in the future.

Kitwanda Benard
While pregnant with Benard, his mom contracted Malaria.  Benard walked at the age of three.   He had trouble in speaking, but now tries to speak a  few words.  Benard is now twelve years old.

Kyaziike Meria
Meria was born at home.  She is not able to hear nor talk.  Meria is eight-years-old and looking for a sponsor so she can go to school.  

Jessica Chandiru
is a lovely twelve-year-old who has muscular dystrophy.  Her weak muscles mean that needs to use a wheelchair to go to school.  Her muscles started to become weak at the age of three.  Jessica stays wither her three brothers and mom.  When asked what she likes to do, she responds “I like carrying babies”.  Her favorite animal is a cow and she likes the color red.

Jackson Dwati
Jackson lives in an Ugandan village.  He is a nine-year-old boy who was born deaf.  When his father realized that Jackson could not hear, he abandoned Jackson and Jackson’s mom.  Jackson’s mom then took him to his aunt because she could not afford to care for his basic needs.  In 2008, Spring of Hope met Jackson’s aunt.  Jackson stays at home to wash dishes and clean the house.  Since meeting Jackson, Spring of Hope has provided lessons at home.  Jackson was taken to a school that teaches kids who are deaf.  However, Jackson is in need of a school sponsor so that he can continue his education.

Nanteza Lukia
Lukia is a nine-year-old girl who enjoys singing during Sunday School at church.  She likes the color green and likes goats.  She lives with her parents, two brothers, and sister.  Nanteza was born a typical developing child, but at the age of three had Malaria.  The medicine she was given resulted in paralysis to her limbs.  She is a beautiful girl who is serving the Lord through her singing ability.  Lukia is praying that God will provide a sponsor.  Her dad was paying, but he got in an accident and is now not able to pay the fees. 

Marina Kenneth
Marina was a healthy child, but then had malaria at four years old.  Malaria caused her to have a collection on her neck as well as neck stiffness.  Water was removed from her neck.  From this incidence, she was no longer able to walk, unable to hear nor speak.  She currently can sit and had to move around by crawling.  Marina was taken to the Hospital and referred to another specialist.  However, her parents couldn’t afford the specialist.  Marina is currently six years old. 

Namubiru Aisha
Aisha was born healthy, but then had a polio immunization.  As a result of the immunization, she was left unable to walk at the age of four.  She was given exercises and was then able to walk.  She became weak and was taken to the hospital.  At the hospital she regained his strength.  Aisha is a slow learner due to the polio immunization. She is a doing very well in her activities of daily living, which Spring of Hope has been implementing.  Aisha is eleven-years old and needs a sponsor so she can go to school.
